Course description
Tracheoesophageal puncture with voice prosthesis (TEP) placement has been considered the gold standard in communication restoration after total laryngectomy since the early 1980s. Since then, treatment paradigms for cancer control have shifted. Because of this, our patients have become more complicated, requiring clinicians to be even more prepared to deal with suboptimal situations. These situations have led to re-surfacing debates of appropriate patient selection for TE puncture.

This live, interactive, one-hour webinar will discuss key topics in patient candidacy for TEP with consideration to the complications that many patients face today. Methods for assessing TEP candidacy that may offer predictive information on successful TEP outcomes will also be addressed.
