Update from Genuinely Julie
Julie had her laryngectomy surgery in March 2006 in Canada. She is a gracious contributor to our newsletter even while she is very busy in her second year of earning her PhD.
Julie is currently working on a project that examines the effects of cancer treatments on the metabolic, immune, and cognitive-affective behavior of adolescent and young adult cancer survivors. She also has a few papers waiting publication in scholarly journals.
In her free time, Julie is in leadership in the adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer community and a fitness enthusiast. The photo is of Julie rock climbing with her cancer survivor climbing group!
